EPCs required for holiday lets.

Since June 30th 2011 an EPC has been required for properties that are rented out as holiday lets.

MHCLG guidance has been amended to provide that an Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) must be obtained for properties that are rented out as holiday lets for 4 months or more in any 12 month period.


Green Deal

This scheme has now closed.


Renewable Heat Incentive (RHI) 

The domestic Renewable Heat Incentive scheme was launched on 9th April 2014 and new regulations were published on 1st April 2021.

It is necessary to have an EPC which is less than 24 months old for all applications. A Green Deal Report is no longer required however minimum standards apply in relation to loft and cavity wall insulation.


Building Regulations Part L1A and Part L1B 2013

The new Building Regulations, Part L1A for new builds and Part L1B for extensions and conversions became effective from 6th April 2014. New, more stringent regulations are imminent.
