EPCs required for holiday lets.

Since June 30th 2011 an EPC has been required for properties that are rented out as holiday lets.

DCLG guidance has been amended to provide that an Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) must be obtained for properties that are rented out as holiday lets for 4 months or more in any 12 month period.


Green Deal

The Green Deal became fully operational on 28th January 2013 and DECC ceased further funding for Green Deal Finance Company and Green Deal Home Improvement Fund (GDHIF) in an announcement on 23rd July 2015.


Renewable Heat Incentive (RHI) and Renewable Heat Premium Payment (RHPP) 

The domestic Renewable Heat Incentive scheme was launched on 9th April 2014.

From 24th March 2016 it will necessary to have an EPC which is less than 24 months old for all applications. A Green Deal Report will no longer be required however minimum standards will apply in relation to loft and cavity wall insulation.


Building Regulations Part L1A and Part L1B 2013

The new Building Regulations, Part L1A for new builds and Part L1B for extensions and conversions became effective from 6th April 2014.
